World Kidney Day 2011 is just a couple days away, observed on March 10th. March, of course, is Kidney Month.The campaign this year will shed light on the link between kidney disease and cardiovascular disease. Many people are still unaware that kidney disease is a big risk for cardiovascular disease. The theme is reflected in this year’s slogan, “Protect Your Kidneys and Save Your Heart.”

Several important events will be taking place in multiple locations across Turkey, Spain, India, the United States, and many more. For more information, check out the official site.

World Kidney Day first began in 2006, and each year it features a new theme. Last year’s theme was “Protect Your Kidneys: Control Diabetes.”
